emily jane loves: eye make-up that stays put

like most women, i love experimenting with eye make-up. it's a fun way to express myself, and it's the only thing that helps me fight the constant uphill battle of forever looking 16 years old.

sadly, my skin doesn't always enjoy keeping eye make-up on, and within two hours of applying my make-up, i look like this:

i love beyonce just as much as the next person, but that's not exactly the look i'm trying to achieve. here is what i've found to remedy this unsightly problem.

1. apply an alcohol-free toner over your eyelids before you apply any make-up.  i prefer neutrogena's alcohol-free toner.
2. apply a long lasting eye cream as your base. i enjoy mac's paint pots (try to use a neutral color if you're just using it as a base).

3. after you've finished applying your eye make-up, use a finishing spray. urban decay makes an amazing spray that i should buy stock in.

and that's it. you can party until the bar closes and still look like this:

  1. check out the maybelline color tattoo cream eyeshadows. they are blendable when you first apply them but then stay put without smearing. i ususally wear them when i know i'm going to the gym that day. they remind me of the mac paint pots and i use them under eyeshadow too to darken up a look. plus they are relatively inexpensive!

i only have tough as taupe and the grey one, i hear the color ones (teal, purple) are more sheer than opaque.

uhh also I use too faced shadow insurance as an eyeshadow primer

    1. i definitely need to try out the color tattoo cream eyeshadows. mac is pretty costly and i would much rather save than spend.
